  8. Most of every expenses is to be incurred by Bride's parents what about Boy ? nothing. Due to this long customs No parents interested to give birth to Girl child. Today Every thing changing but demand is as it is why because in the mind of Indian People FREE is first. Due to this type of typical mentality today ration of girl child is dropping day by day in each and every community and if this type of trend is continue then one day all the above customs reversed and then after also NO GIRL available for Boy. So beware and stop demand from bride's parents and harrasing them in the name of customes. Otherwise See today situation, Girls are rejecting boy and after 10 years ?

    1. Now a days girl's mothers are adding so many things as she is taking as prestige and also the girls are earning much. Beacuse of this so many unwanted items are added( one item for example is Bracelet). If we follow the original demands (rather we can call it as requirements ) initiated by our elders even today we can celebrate the marriage economically and happily only requirement is Mind set

    2. At the end only boy n gal going to live together n not this kattu sadham bracelet necklace chain silver tumbler will not give peace in life rather it create all problem like expectation, poking n making fun if not full filled
gender equality is imp.........both parents should expect tat their children r living happily n peacefully n behave accordingly ,during those olden days wen nothing is there to eat where does they(gals father) afford for a silver or gold.these customs are to bind the relatives like athai mama sambandhis now a days no one does like each other, turn away their faces.ultimately bride n groom should be happy in getting together. Now a days girls r going for work n getting equal importance in the society so no one bothered n r least interested in getting married or they like to be in living relationship so change according to the current generations.i think in coming years after 2 3 gen ppl may comeback for these kind of category wen they ve lot of money n no peace in their life .

  13. Being a lady i really dont like these type of customs and traditions only to girl side families. It makes the girl to be sad instead of making her happy at the pregnancy time. No girl will like these type of consequences.please try to keep all the girls happy atleast during this time as she is doing a lot for the society as a awhole.

  18. Majority of the formalities r from girls side.. This really shows how much burden the boys side family will put on girls side.. These customs will never help a family grow it just increase loads of tension in girls side family.. These ideas will b very useful for boys side to nicely collect everything from girl side in the name of mappilai or son in law..

    1. Very disheartening but true. But nowadays girls expect these share from boys side or this is the main reason that girls switch to Non - Brahmins for marriage. There, they have equal share in every function. Brahmin culture s*** because of this marriage concept

    2. Thanks for compiling in this blog the traditional requirements for all functions in life. There have been adverse comments on this site and the same should not have found its place. The blog is created for people to consult the requirements and nowhere a compulsion is created to adhere to what is mentioned. I strictly follow our tradition. My marriage, Varsha seer seemandham valakappu aandu niraivu for both children ( one daughter and one son)and their marriage now aandu niravu for my grand daughter is to take place as per tradition only.
This kind of blogs only helped us in noting down the requirements and buy in a single visit to Tamil Nadu . Those in Chennai cannot understand the need of this blog as they have readily available stores in their vicinity and also people with information. Please do not discourage people wanting to follow tradition by giving unnecessary and unwanted gender biased comments.
Long live the person who created this blog.
